I thought you might find this interesting – we have one for backup power in our home. ( http://www.freeplayenergy.com/product/weza ) It is very useful, and can give you incentive to exercise in the winter months! It really beats trundling a marine battery via wheelbarrow to the neighbor’s barn for a daytime charge and trundling it back for an evening’s light, which is how I lighted my studies in a cabin in the woods for the first year and a half I lived in Maine. If you are interested in it, look around for a better price – you’ll find it. I think these can be charged by solar panels, as well as pedal power. Or, you can put it in a wheelbarrow and trundle it off to the neighbors’….
